Hooting West Yorkshire Gin is a traditional London Dry Gin containing 19 botanicals which include:
Juniper, Coriander Seeds, Bitter Orange Peel, Grapefruit Peel, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Liquorice, Grains of Paradise, Burdock Root, Cardamom, Turmeric and Cumin amongst others.
Inspired by the home town of our distiller (Bradford), this is a spicy gin containing the traditional curry spices of cardamom, turmeric and cumin, these are sweetened by the liquorice (Pontefract Cakes) and cassia bark.
The carefully weighed botanical mix and the lovingly accurate way in which we distil our gins makes for a very smooth flavour packed "spiced" gin.
As in all true gins, the taste explosion starts with Juniper, followed by, the earthiness of the turmeric complimented by the sweetness of the liquorice & cassia bark and the spiced flavours of the cardamom, cumin, cubeb and grains of paradise.
Serve over ice, with one part Gin and three parts of the tonic of your choosing, at Hooting Owl we use a plain tonic as we believe that the flavour should come from the gin not the tonic, add some pink peppercorns, a cardamom pod and half of a star anise to produce a really complex yet clean flavour explosion.
