About the owner

Since reading 'A Woman of Substance' by Barbara Taylor Bradford (a fellow Yorkshire lady!) at a young age, Drewton's proprietor Katie Taylor was determined to run her own little empire. With a flair for organising charity events and interior design, she was fondly known as 'Clipboard Katie'. Mixed with her passion for food and entertaining, it seemed the right combination to make a break from the family's textile businesses and leave those 'dark satanic mills' of West Yorkshire for the open fields of the Wolds to create a new life for herself and her children, doing what she does best.

With a good knowledge of local and regional produce, and being a proud English lady yet dedicated to her Yorkshire roots, Katie is proud of her achievements and is looking forward to the next chapter.
